Creating a New Project

Every work in Writan starts as a project. A project is the top-level container that holds your entire story structure — from broad acts down to individual beats.

Steps

  1. From the dashboard, click New Project
  2. Enter a project title
  3. Your project is created with an empty node tree, ready for you to add structure

What Gets Created

When you create a project, Writan sets up:

  • A project record linked to your account
  • An empty node tree — the hierarchical structure where your story will live
  • The three-panel workspace: Library (left), Document Tree (centre), Properties (right)
